Pantomime Publicity

Publicity for Robinson Crusoe is now reaching its peak - with the Keighley News photo-shoot producing pictures like these last Friday.  Tickets are selling well - the first matinee sold out over a week ago; the wecond matinee and Wednesday evening tickets have nearly all gone and the others are going well.  If you have not got your tickets yet, you can book on-line or telephone Janet Artmstrong - just click on the link opposite for full details.

The cast are now desperately trying to learn their lines and remember all they have been taught over the last few months; scene builders and painters are working flat out to complete the sets; costumes are being sewn, sound, lighting and other special effects are being finallised - all ready for the first performance in just three weeks time.

It's going to be another super show - don't miss it!!

Robinson Crusoe preparations

The Christmas season is not yet over but the Panto season is well and truly upon us!

Bookings are already being received on-line and the tickets go on sale next week.

As the advert shows, there are eight fun-packed performances to choose from again this year.  Some of them will be sold out before the end of January, so don't leave it too late to book your favourite show.  The first Saturday evening performance is usually the quietest, so we encourage you to try that one if you have no special preference.

The stage goes up in church this week so church services will be held in the Lounge for the next couple of months.  Many people quite enjoy the more informal setting at this time of year.

The cast are now learning their lines, ready for rehearsals starting on stage at the end of next week.  Everything then starts to come together - from scenery building and painting, to costume making, to sound effects and lighting plots, right down to each individual cast member working with all the others to make this truly the best pantomime ever!

Come and see for yourself - and enjoy a wonderful show!!

Christmas Eve 2011

A good company of folks from  several churches around the area joined us for mince pies and fruit punch before we all moved into church for our Christmas Eve candlelight Communion Service, which was led by Rev Sandie Exley-Watts this year.

As midnight approached, we all lit and held personal candles to welcome in Christmas Day.  A lovely service.

Christmas Services 2011

All our Christmas Services have been well attended and much appreciated - from the Carol Service led by Sandie (followed by an excellent Christmas Lunch!) through Carols in the Barn and the KWVR Carol Train to our Christmas Praise Service last Sunday, led by Louise and the young people.  That service featured dancing, singing, drama with puppets and the Spurgeons DVD "The Great Escape". Gabriella joined the band!

Remembrance Sunday 2011

There was a large congregartion in church and at the Cenotaph for the Remembrance ceremonies this year. Good numbers of Uniformed young people stood alongside parents and many others as we remembered again those who lost their lives in two world wars and other hostilities since, with Janet Armstrong leading our thoughts.

Autumn Fayre 2011

A big thank you to everyone who supported the Autumn Fayre in early November. We had a bumper crowd looking round and spending their money, resulting in a massive profit of £960 for church funds - a brilliant result!

SS Prize Giving Praise Service 2011

"Everyone's invited" was the theme of the Sunday School Prize Giving Praise Service in October. This was explored in songs, prayers, a sketch called "The King" using puppets, a short message from Louise and even a clip from "Alice in Wonderland"! JMA Awards and Sunday School Prizes were then presented to the young people who really enjoyed taking part in the service.

Sunshine Bags 2011

Maureen and Rodney hosted the annual Coffee Morning when our Sunshine Bags were emptied in early October.  Everyone enjoyed the fellowship as £240 was counted and bagged for Church Funds.

Harvest Festival 2011

Instead of preparing the Harvest display on Saturday, everyone brought gifts to the Service on Sunday this year and created this display at the beginning of the service. Our new minister Rev Sandie Exley-Watts led the service and we all shared in a Faith Lunch afterwards so that we could chat with her and she could begin to put names to faces!

Yorkshireman Marathon 2011

Another great team effort providing soup and cake for the 500 runners as they returned at the end of the marathon - which was much appreciated by the participants and the organisers. Well done everybody!
